Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) |
E-Sign Corporate Solutions ( Associate firm of TRR & Associates) are the Dealers of E-Mudhra Limited, who provide DSCs of various types, namely, Class 2, Class 3 & Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), each having a different level of security :
- Class 2 is used for e-filing of documents relating to Income tax, , Provident Fund (PF), Employees' State Insurance (ESI), Ministry of Corporate Affairs 21 ( ROC).
- Class 3 is used for E-Tendering purposes.
- DGFT is used by EXIM (Export & Import) Organisations which mandatorily require a DSC for transactions and to file accompanying documents electronically on the DGFT website. On validating the Sender's identity, authenticity of the documents and validity of the DSC, DGFT processes the documents for Issuance of Licence.
A Digital Signature is an electronic signature used to authenticate the identity of the Sender of a message or the Signer of a document and to ensure that the original content of the message or document to be sent is unchanged.
Digital signatures are easily transportable, cannot be imitated by someone else and can be automatically time-stamped.
The ability to ensure that the original signed message arrived implies that Sender cannot easily repudiate it on a later date. Digital Signature can be used with any kind of message, whether encrypted or not, so that the Receiver is assured of the Sender's identity and that the message sent and received is intact.
A DSC contains the digital signature of the certificate-issuing authority so that anyone can verify that the certificate is real. A DSC is normally valid for a period of 2 years, after which renewal is required.
